150 motivated young Australians - one from every federal electorate - will be selected for a five-day residential program in Canberra in 2026.  You don’t need to have any experience - just a desire to contribute, learn and represent your community.

The form will ask you to respond to the following questions. Each question as a limit of 600 characters.

  1. Commitment to Civic Engagement
    Why do you want to be part of the National Youth Parliament? What does civic engagement mean to you?
  2. Community Connection & Understanding
    Describe your connection to your local community. What are the two biggest issues in your community that matter to you, and why?
  3. Leadership & Initiative
    Tell us about a time you took the lead or stepped up to help others – this could be at school, in your community, or in your personal life.
  4. Diversity of Voice & Lived Experience
    What makes your point of view unique? This could be based on your background, identity, culture, or life experiences.

We also recommend that you attach a letter of reference from a teacher, local Member or community member.
